The HKUST Alumni Association (HKUST AAO) organized a memorable day trip that brought together 19 alumni for a day of exploration and camaraderie. The event, meticulously planned and executed, served as a testament to the association’s commitment to fostering connections and creating lasting memories among its members.

Journey to Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Departing from Toronto’s main areas, Markham and Finch, five carpooling groups, each consisting of 4-5 members, embarked on a 1.5-hour drive to the breathtaking Scenic Caves Nature Adventures in Collingwood. The journey itself was filled with anticipation and excitement as alumni shared stories and expectations for the day ahead.

Exploring the Crevasse Trail

Upon arrival, the group took on the Crevasse Trail, a route well-suited for hikers of all ages and experience levels. The trail offered a blend of natural beauty and tranquility, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the serene environment while engaging in lively conversations. The easy walk was complemented by the stunning views and the crisp, fresh air of the Ontario outdoors.

Lunch and Cave Exploration

Following the trail walk, the group enjoyed a quick lunch at the center, fueling up for the next adventure – exploring the famous caves. The cave exploration was a highlight, revealing the wonders of nature and providing a unique and enriching experience for all participants.

Evening at Wasaga Beach

As the day progressed, the alumni made their way to Wasaga Beach, where they relished the summer vibes and the picturesque sunset. The beach visit was a time for relaxation, laughter, and the formation of new friendships, epitomizing the spirit of the HKUST AAO community.

Dinner at Queen Restaurant

To conclude the day, the group returned to Finch and gathered at the Queen Restaurant for a delightful dinner. The meal was a time of reflection on the day’s experiences and an opportunity for members to strengthen their bonds. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude, especially towards Christina, Vivan, Alan, David, and Natalie, who facilitated the driving, and Christina, who played a pivotal role in organizing the event.
